See where the deer should be.

Pin the beds, the feed, and the trails on your ground. HuntCast shades the spot they’re most likely to use, names the highest chance, and then tells you if today’s wind lets you hunt it.

  • Likely ground The spot your deer should be using today.
  • Highest chance Bed, feed, or travel — named on the map.
  • Tighter every sit Pins that agree pull the area in.
  • Then the wind Perfect, marginal, or blown for that stand.

Deer movement

The spot they’re using. Before you walk in.

You already know the sign. HuntCast turns it into a place to sit. Mark the bed, the feed, the travel route, and the trail. The map shades the ground your deer are most likely to use and puts a highest-chance call on it — feed in the grass, bed on the edge — so you stop guessing which corner to hunt.

  • Likely areas show up on the stand you’re about to hunt, before you leave.
  • Highest chance is named for the deer you marked, not a vague blob on the property.
  • It starts wide. Every pin that agrees pulls the spot tighter.
  • Your sign only. Nothing from other hunters, and nothing leaves the phone.
Then the wind

Know if you can hunt that spot.

A likely area you can’t approach is a wasted morning. HuntCast puts today’s wind against the stand that faces that ground — perfect, marginal, or blown — and counts down legal light. Go this morning, or it names the next good one.

  • One line before you leave: go, wait, or skip, for the stand that faces the deer.
  • Legal light from that stand. Times are estimates, not legal advice.
  • A 0–100 score for the morning, with the species that fit today’s conditions called out.
  • Each stand gets its own week. Free covers the next few days. Pro opens the rest.

Your hunts

Every sit makes the spot sharper.

Start the sit and HuntCast saves the wind, the score, and what you saw. Close it with saw nothing, saw game, or harvested. The ground you hunt gets clearer, and so does the wind that actually produces there.

  • Outcomes are saw nothing, saw game, or harvested, plus a note if you want one.
  • Success by wind rating and by pressure trend, from your own closed sits.
  • Notes and photos stay on the phone. Free has limits. Pro removes them.
  • No social sightings feed and no cloud copy of your spots.

In the field

The week, the calls, and the track.

Once you know the ground, the rest is in the same phone. Game today ranks the deer — and the other species — that fit this morning. Calls play without a signal. Blood track highlights red in the camera if the shot is there. A field aid, not a substitute for tracking skill or local regs.

Hunting forecast questions

Does HuntCast predict where deer will be?

Yes. Mark where you saw them bed, feed, and travel. HuntCast shades the ground they’re most likely to use and names the highest-chance spot on the map. It starts wide and pulls tighter as your pins agree. Your sign, on your phone. A plan for the morning — not a promise of a deer.

What is HuntCast?

HuntCast predicts the ground your deer are using, then tells you if today’s wind lets you hunt that stand. It counts down legal shooting light and logs the sit on your phone. No social feed. No account.

Does HuntCast work offline?

After a sync, cached forecasts, stands, hunt logs, photos, game calls, and the bundled game catalog stay usable without service. Map tiles and some land-cover layers need a connection. This website needs one too.

Are legal light times official?

No. Times are estimates from stand coordinates. They are not legal advice. Confirm local hunting laws and seasons before you hunt.

Does HuntCast require an account?

No. Stands, notes, photos, sightings, and hunt logs stay on the device.

Can I get alerts for my stand’s wind?

Yes. One stand can alert inside the free 3-day window when your saved wind shows up. Pro alerts every stand and can require falling pressure.

Does the map show a scent cone ahead?

Yes. Scrub it hour by hour. Free covers the same 3 days as the week planner. Pro scrubs the full 7-day cache. The live cone for right now stays free.

Is there a home screen widget?

On Android, long-press the home screen, open Widgets, and add HuntCast. Pro shows the active stand’s hunt score, legal light, and wind.

How do solunar times work?

Solunar times are major and minor movement windows from the sun and moon. The tool on this site charts them for a city or ZIP. Moon phase, activity bands, and rut hints stay in the app.
